European Researchers’ Night
The “Researchers’ Night” is an initiative promoted by the European Commission since 2005 that involves thousands of researchers and research institutions across Europe every year.
Thegoal The aim of the initiative is to create opportunities for researchers and citizens to meet and spread scientific culture and knowledge of research professions. The events organized throughout the region for the 2014 edition (September 26, 2014) included live scientific experiments and demonstrations, exhibitions and guided tours, conferences and educational seminars, shows, and concerts.
The 2014 "Spezzina" Nights venues spanned the entire city; the spaces were offered free of charge by the Port Authority of La Spezia, the Municipality of La Spezia, the Naval Technical Museum of the Italian Navy, the "U. Formentini" Archaeological Museum, and the "Contrappunto" Bookshop. The overall attendance at the events was 2,543, not including, of course, all the students (more than 500) who participated in the activities dedicated to them.
The 2015 edition took place on September 25, 2015, in the spaces of the Navy Arsenal, the Naval Technical Museum, the MMI Officers' Club, and the Planetarium of the Capellini-Sauro Institute.
